I love the Sawtelle salad! I heard its one of their popular ones;) Don't be stupid and take out all the goodies (dates/cheese) cuz then you'll hate it and end up writing a nasty review like I did! So I hope Greens Up forgives me, for that was the old me that didn't know better. Their salad is so big, if you finish it I'll call you BEAST! Yummy blueberry mint lemonade-so light on natural cane sugar you'll barely notice it. Staff is always super friendly. Went in at 3pm Saturday, full of cute healthy people oo lala!

Super solid salads. Heck, you choose the ingredients it should be good! Haha Anyways, all the ingredients are always fresh. I do a mix of arugula and spinach, add garbanzos some chicken or turkey with tomatoes and carrots slices. Jump in and grab their iced tea too. Simply the best around.

I'm not a salad fan but I loved Greens Up! You can customize your own salad or get one of their pre-made ones. I went with the Sawtelle - their most popular. They make it with roasted turkey cubes, corn, dates, and goat cheese with a light vinaigrette. So good! They also have a variety of healthy juices. All of their stuff is on the pricier side but nothing is outrageous. They have a few places to sit but this is more of a place to pick up a salad and leave to the beach or stroll on Main Street. Definitely coming back!

Quick hunger fix. They offer organic meats, which I appreciate. The salads are huge, and even if you add meat, it still only costs $10. I like heading here after Yoga. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, quick to make and yummy to eat. The only problem is parking is nuts in this part of town.

Uninspiring salad with some ingredients from a can. But hard to get a meal under $10 on Main thanks to the hipster invasion so glad they are here! Lemonade style mini deli salads would be a lot better though.

A Must every time I come to Santa Monica! It's such a healthy choice! I am always creating my own custom salad, with some greens (preferably spinach), carrots julienne, mushrooms, topped with almonds. I've added feta cheese as protein previously, this time I chose turkey breast. When it comes to the dressing, it's hard to decide between approx. 10 choices! They can tell you the exact ingredients. This was helpful as I don't like raw onion. All of that is tossed if you wish, and served in a huge stainless steel salad bowl. Their lemonade is also yummy. The place itself is clean and light, a bit industrial but they have added cute stuff that makes it a bit more individual and cosy.

A real salad restaurant! Fast and inexpensive. Walk up counter. Pick your type of lettuce/kale, etc.and add four choices of extras from a long list. Pay a buck or two extra for cheeses and a few other items. You can have them toss the salad in the dressing of your choice, or have it left on the side. If you eat at the store, they serve your salad in a stainless steel bowl. This place is a salad lovers paradise.

Ordered for pick up from this place cause I was craving some veggies today. And holy crap their salads are huuuge. Ideally I'd knock off a dollar or two, but overall, delicious. The house dressing is great. I'd come back.

While juicing last week I ended up having to stay in Santa Monica longer than I attended and I was left without the juices that I had already prepared at home so I stumbled upon this place asking if they had coldpressed juice and sure enough they did but for seven dollars well I was desperate to stay on track so I bought a green juice it had kale celery spinach lemon ginger and something else in it LOL it was as expected nothing special about it. The salads looked really good and I really look forward to returning and trying a salad.

The philosophy of Greens Up appears to be that any lack of finesse or ingredient quality (the grilled chicken breast cubes were awfully tough!) can be made for in volume. These salads are quite big, and are served in the giant metal mixing bowls in which they are composed. And while that isn't the most enthusiastic recommendation, the results are pretty satisfying, so I'd give that philosophy a qualified thumbs up. Sure, I'd rather be at Tender Greens, but this was a solid, workmanlike salad.

  • Larry G.

It's ok. Here's the thing and I hope they read this. They are in an amazing location cause there are no other places where you can grab a salad quickly like this. If they took 30 seconds to chop the salad it would be WORLDS better. Also, the proteins could stand to be better. The turkey and chicken are really dry. If they even just took the 30 seconds to just chop the salad I bet they would notice a spike in their business and it would cost them nothing.

Came here directly after leaving the gym to grab lunch with a friend. I asked where I could find the bathroom as I was hoping to wash my hands before eating. I was informed that they didn't have a "public" restroom, and that I could go to the coffee shop next door instead. WTF?? I'm shocked it's not illegal to fail to provide a sanitary place to AT LEAST wash your hands before a meal. Get it together, Greens Up. You're not a taco truck.

This place is great. They have a big selection of fresh ingredients and I have not had a salad that i did not enjoy. The salads are really huge and I usually share it with someone. At around $11.50 a salad, they are pretty pricey but definitely worth it. I also love the organic green tea!

  • Vadim G.

I've been coming to both locations for years and have always enjoyed their salads. While I think the initial thought of paying over $10 for a salad is ridiculous, especially given places like Tender Greens, this place more than makes up for it. So finally, I decided to write this review to share the secret...this place is bomb! I just had the Sawtelle salad, again, with kale, spinach, and arugula as the greens base. And I'm always impressed that they don't cheap out on all the other goodies: turkey, dates, sliced almonds, goat cheese, to make this salad worth it! It's the convenience of having all these items in a large packed salad bowl where everything is always super fresh and high quality bringing out all the intended flavors. They have other salads too and you can customize everything. You can mix up the greens you want at no extra cost. Give them a shot if you want a healthy meal

Delicious delicious delicious! HUGE portion sizes of amazing A+ salads. I've tried their Sonoma salad and their Caesar salad. I strongly advocate toward adding avocado to everything!!

This place is amazing! The salad is Everything you ever wanted... All fresh and delicious. The Santorini is my favorite! Love it!

  • Peter A.

It's healthy, sure... I get that. It's expensive for what you get. They really skimp out on throwing what's in the salad.... In the salad. When your order includes chicken and blue cheese in their best selling 'sawtelle salad' you shouldn't have to stare at your salad to identify those ingredients were truly added. Flavor was mediocre. Felt very pushy in there with only one person in front of me being harassed - being subtly asked to order by the manager. Save your cash and get a better salad (cheaper?? yikes!) at whole foods.

    (2)
  • P D.

The customer service at Greens up is terrible. The owner, Rob, and the manager are extremely rude and unaccommodating; the rest of the staff act as if they are scared of being fired by their tyrant boss. The salads are mediocre at best. I would much rather give my money to family run and super friendly Monster Salad on Santa Monica Blvd and 4th Street.

  • Anastasia B.

I love this place. There is good choice of salads and they are big, good and tasty. Also try lemonade and other drinks, they are really refreshing. 4 stars for being a bit overpriced.

  • Sarah R.

Nice staff- really healthy and fresh salads. i eat here all the time and you should to. compared with other LA said spots Id say this is on par price wise maybe even a little cheaper! Usually very quick in and out

Okay, let me just start off saying that this place is for salad enthusiasts. If you wouldn't pay $10+ for a salad, don't bother going here! With that said, this place is like heaven when you crave a fresh, yummy salad! They are generous with their portion size. Everything tastes super fresh. I haven't tried their menu items; I've only made my own combination salad. I gotta say I'm a satisfied customer each time! You're always greeted with a smile - great customer service! The interior of the store is really clean. That's how you'd want a salad place to be - over the top sanitary. Overall, it's definitely worth shelling out a couple more bucks for a salad.

A little bit pricey, but a great salad. Good ingredients and a huge portion. It would be nice to have the option to order half size.

Who doesn't love a ginormous, healthy bowl of salad that you want to keep eating?? My favorite is the sawtelle--the dates and goat cheese are a lovely combo--but the sonoma coast with the honey roasted walnuts and red grapes is dear to my heart too. I always get the tangy apple vinaigrette that's recommended for both of these salads. It's very light and pairs well with both salads. I order the dressing on the side, and when I am ready to eat the salad, I pour all the dressing into the bowl, put the lid back on, and shake shake shake to get it evenly tossed. The salad is very big like I said...if you are super hungry, one whole salad is very satisfying, but if you're not that hungry, you can share with somebody or save some for later. I love coming here for take-out on the weeknights, and sometimes I will even pick up a salad to bring to work the next day! You can call ahead to order your salad so you can pick up your salad super fast (especially if you park in the loading zone just down the street in front of Gunpowder!)

  • Justin A.

Meh. I got the 'somewhat ceaser" salad with chicken - about $13 bucks. For a salad. Jeez. Anyway, there was barely any blue cheese or parmesan cheese. Oh you want more? Add $1.50 per ingredient. Crazy.

The salads here are huge and awesome. I first came here with a friend and she remarked how good the price was for her salad: Kale + a huge amount of high protein items. She was very pleased with it. She also really liked the huge bowls that the salads came in. I think eating there is really fun. As a vegetarian, I'm always looking for places to go so I'm not eating the same thing over and over ... and I'm pretty wary of salad places. Usually, salads are kind of boring, but I was very pleased with the selection of ingredients that Greens Up had. They have several different kinds of greens (most of them organic) and a HUGE amount of toppings + dressings. The people who work there are super nice and never get upset or flustered when I'm ordering more than one salad (I usually go in and order for a group of people). They are more than happy to put things on the side if I need them to and always make the salads exactly how we like them. The customer service here is one of the best things about the place. I always really enjoy my salad. It's big enough where I can split it with someone or I can eat it at lunch, snack, and dinner. Greens Up is a go to place for me when I'm trying to stay healthy and eat right. Plus, their to-go bowls are actually really fun ... I love eating out of them.

My initial reaction to this place was that I was going to have to make a trip to the pawn shop because it is so expensive, but then when they handed me a salad with loads and loads of toppings in a dish the size of a smartcar, I was like "Ohhhhhhhhh." It's awesome. They have about 5 or 6 designed salads you can choose from, or make your own with 4 toppings included, and then an extra .50-2.00 for meats and cheeses. The Sawtelle is their most popular and you'll be surprised how fast you can inhale it: romaine, goat cheese, corn, dates, roast turkey, almonds, croutons, and a homemade tangy apple dressing. The fresh kale is a delicious and crunchy base as well, topped with everything from fresh beets to edamame.

I am still a regular and still impressed as the first time we met how fresh and clean this salad shop is. I have never had a bad salad or unfriendly service here.

**SO FRESH AND SO GREEN GREEN** Thank you, Green's Up, for satisfying my salad cravings. My body LOVES you. ORDERED: *THAI with Tropical Ginger dressing ($9.75) - Romaine, spring mix, tofu, carrot, cucumber, tomato, red onion, and crushed peanuts with that Tropical Ginger was light, refreshing and tasty. Next time, I will try it with the Thai Peanut dressing. *BLUEBERRY COOLER ($3.50) - Muddled blueberries, mint leaves, combined with lemonade and green tea was delicious. Very detox friendly. I've had the Sawtelle, American Bounty, and now the Thai. My goal is to try every salad on their menu. Everyone was super nice at the counter. Loved the owner, too. RECOMMEND.

Great fresh juices! I had their cold pressed electro beets and greenhouse cooler juice. Both were delicious and fresh! I haven't tried any of their salads yet, but I will be back next time.

I come here all the time. The salads may seem expensive but you get a lot for your buck. You could potentially turn these big guys into two meals if you want. Fresh ingredients, tastes great, hard to beat if you want a good salad.

I love this place. The most delicious, organic ingredients and friendly staff. Just a little pricey.. I always end up spending about $12 :p

  • Violet R.

The salad here is fresh and the dressings are delicious. The thing I don't like about this place is that the most basic salads start around $9. If you want cheese, nuts, dried fruit, seeds, avocado, ect. , you have to pay another $1.50 more for each of these items. The salad is nice and large, but if you need extra dressing to cover salad, it's another $1.50. By the time I leave, I've spent about $15 plus tip for a pretty basic veggie salad. I do like the convenient location. There's metered parking and street. Again, the salad IS really fresh. Even though it's overpriced, I would still suggest coming here

I prefer Fresh Up to any of the other Salad places around. We have eaten here quite a few times when all I wanted was salad. Very fresh, dressings are good and large portions. Could easily share one salad.

  • Louise C.

I love this place. One of My favourite salad places in LA. Salads bar, mot to pricy and you get a lot for you're money. They give you a big salad Bowl to eat from and if you can't finish you're salad, why not take the rest to finish back home. If you're in santa Monica, its a mist to come here

Environmentally friendly salad place. Wonderfully homemade simple salads. First the place is clean & inviting. The salads are made with simple ingredients. At this time we tried the Spa Salad, baby spinach, sliver almonds, dried cherries, orange segments, feta cheese. A light white balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Just a good salad I truly enjoyed eating.

Working on main st the salad options around can get tiresome (soggy novel cafe salads or overpriced urth cafe salads) Finding out about Greens Up has been life changing. They deliver which has been so helpful if we get busy with clients and the price is worth the portions. Enough to eat half and save the rest for dinner or get a couple and share with coworkers! PRO TIP: I recommend always ordering online for pickup and delivery. They use a service called seamless and they offer $7 off a $15 order. Basically you get two amazing salads with tax and tip for 20 bucks! Cant beat that.

This is my favorite salad restaurant in all of Los Angeles. The only reason why I don't like it is because I wish they had one closer to Beverly Hills (where I live). I drive all the way to Santa Monica/ Venice to grab salads ! Its so clean, and they use the freshest ingredients. LOVE LOVE LOVE

  • Leslie S.

Honestly I don't understand how this place has 4 stars. I tried it last night and I'll NEVER go back! It's just an overpriced way-less-than-average salad place! The protein I chose was tuna, I honestly didn't taste it in my salad, I don't know how much they put in but my husband said he saw and it was a tablespoon of tuna in my big bowl of salad. Avocado was extra $2, they put in (not exaggerating) a teaspoon of avocado. The funniest part is that they say everything is organic?!! Organic my @$$!! The black olives tasted like chemicals! When they're charging $15 a salad, they should NOT be using canned olives and specially if they're advertising their salads as organic. Not cool!! Will never go back, that's for sure!

Solid salad place with both lots of build your own options and pre-set salads. LOVE their oil free tangy apple vinagrette dressing!

Great Salads! Great Portions! This place makes a custom salad fast at a reasonable price, the ingredients are always fresh and the portion is VERY filling. All the dressings I have tried are delicious. The Strawberry lemonade with fresh ground up strawberries and mint leaves is SO REFRESHING...The cookies are delicious. The staff is very friendly and nice...

Tried this spot for the first time this week and have already gone back for a second time and sat outside in front on the sunny little patio on Main St. Sawtelle salad is good with chopped turkey, dates, corn, etc. This is the most popular. Tried the Jarvis sale and it was good too The sole problem us that they are ENORMOUS. My only complaint is that the salads are way too big for 1 person. Even if it is salad. Really, it's too much. Would recommend splitting and getting fro-yo across the street.

I love this place. It's in a great location and walking distance from my office on Main Street. They've got a ton of salad options from locally fresh and organic products or you can build your own salad - think Subway but much higher quality ingredients! The only downside is it can be a bit pricey. I asked if they had a local Main Street discount and they did not (many other businesses offer 5-10% off if you work on the street). I usually opt for building my own salad although it is very similar to the Sonoma Coast salad which has baby field greens, mozzarella, turkey breast, candied walnuts, grapes, orange segments and balsamic dressing. I just add in Kale, Arugula, Spinach and a double amount of grilled chicken instead of the turkey breast. The service is always super friendly and fast - never had to wait in line longer than couple minutes during the lunch rush. Good selection of organic teas, sparkling water and other juices available as well. You can choose to take it to go or eat it from a big aluminum bowl in the dining area or on the patio. The portions are great and it's one of the healthiest options on Main Street!

You know when you go to a place where they don't understand what a salad should be like, and you order a salad and your salad is a soupy mess because they put so much dressing. Thats what my harvest salad was like. I felt like taking a napkin and sopping some of it off my dressing. What could have been a 300 calorie salad was well over 600 calories. All there was to it was lettuce, Tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, red beans, beets, and carrots. How do you ruin this? I won't say that I won't go again, but next time... Dressing on the side! Dressing on the side!

Fresh salads and freshly squeezed juices. Really like the 'Spa Salad' but wish they would expand the number of salads they've already formulated and designed. It's hard to pick from the list of ingredients when there are people waiting behind you. (note - come up with a chopped Chinese Chicken Salad and I'll be there).

Thank you so much for the wonderful service, and the delicious food. The owner has been so kind to me multiple times (e.g. when I showed up before the store opened because I was starving after a workout and ordered a salad with triple protein). This place is delicious, healthy, and all around does amazing service for the santa monica community. Thank you. PS: Request: more sauteed/steamed veggies to throw on a salad, like zuchinni, mushrooms & beets.

Definitely a solid choice if you want a huge, hearty salad that will fill you up without making you feel gross and overly full. I walked in for the first time recently and asked what I should have and was told that the Sawtelle salad was their most popular, so I went with that. It comes with roasted turkey cubes, corn, dates, and goat cheese with a light vinaigrette. The ingredients were fresh, and though I found that and actually every salad to be very expensive (around $9-12), it really was huge as I mentioned and you could easily split it between two people. They also have some fun juices and lemonades that looked fresh and refreshing but were also quite pricey. The best part about my experience there was the service. I'm not sure who helped me but he was the only one working and just so friendly and sweet, encouraging me to come back and try the other varieties. He promised me I'd love my salad and while I liked it, I'm not sure it's something I'd have on the daily just because the price tag did seem kind of high for a salad. But I do trust that they use top notch ingredients and it does seem like they put a lot of love into their food so I'm a fan!

  • Victoria S.

Nothing new or exciting here IMO - I have had more exciting ingredients and combinations on the East coast. I was actually a bit disappointed by the menu and was hoping for something more creative in Santa Monica. I walked up to the counter and the guy seemed a bit distant and unfriendly. The salad was very basic but that's what I ordered so maybe that's not a good way to put it. However, nothing would make me go out of my way to go back. Most likely I will go somewhere else down the road.

FANTASTIC salads! My coworkers and I picked up an order for lunch today, and everyone agreed--Greens Up! gets two thumbs up! The salads are HUGE and made with fresh, quality ingredients and delicious dressings. I ordered the Jarvis and fell in love at first bite: romaine, bacon, two types of cheese, turkey, and croutons. The roasted garlic dressing is heavenly. Others in the office ordered the Sawtelle, Thai, Sonoma Coast, and American Bounty salads, and everyone is convinced that the salad they had was the best. Be sure to try the different lemonades with muddled berries and herbs, and pick up a cookie or two (I recommend the chocolate chip walnut and the pumpkin cookies). Customer service is a huge deal to me, so getting greeted by the owner and seeing how enthusiastic he is about creating great food started our experience off on the right foot. The restaurant is clean and inviting, and we'll all be returning soon.

Delicious salad. Excellence dressing. Very friendly service. The salad has a nice balance between the leafy green and vegetable. Felt great after the meal. Salad was big enough to share. I would be regular if I live in Santa Monica.

One of the freshest, cleanest, healthiest, feel-good-about-yourself salad bars around. Just pick the ingredients, tell them how you want it, and away they go. (Or pick one of their standard menu items.) And whoever said a salad can't be filling?! Certainly not the case here with their monster salad bowls. Greens up gets two big thumbs up from me!!

There's a lot to love about this place: * Great location on Main Street at the corner of Marine * Both patio and inside seating * Super fast moving lines - they have their process down pat! * VERY friendly service * Fresh, organic ingredients * SUPER easily customize-able salads * Yummy soups * DELISH teas with fruit and herb purees muddled in I had the Sonoma Coast salad - baby field greens, mozzarella, turkey breast, candied walnuts, grapes, orange segments, and balsamic dressing on the side. Served to me in the giant stainless steel bowl that they tossed it in! My friend had a customized salad, also served in the same giant stainless steel bowl. We shared a White Bean Soup - which was really creamy and bean-y, and perfectly seasoned. Though we didn't order them, the bright-eyed, friendly cashier dude brought us each a tea muddled with strawberries and basil. I had eyed it on the menu and it sounded great, but I had no idea how AMAZING it would actually be. It was perfectly sweetened (lightly), bursting with herby and berry-y flavors, making it refreshing and special. What a treat! The breezy patio was the perfect place to enjoy our food. I'd absolutely come back here : D

As a salad enthusiast, and someone who loves variety in salads (there are endless possibilities! ) , I was less than impressed with Greens Up. Their ingredients lacked in featuring items like Frisee, butter lettuce, olives, watercress and other [fancier greens], various tomatoes, good cheeses, meat selection, etc.their presentation is rather unenthusiastic, and ingredients are arranged (like subway), but fresh nevertheless. Salads are served in huge steel mixing bowls which I'm not sure if I like. High expectations or not, I felt like paying $10+ for a salad would include more fun than that!!

WHEN SOMETHING IS SENSATIONAL- YOU DO AN ENCORE!!! Greens Up - on Montana Ave, Santa Monica is simply amazing and can't get enough of it: variety & taste go hand-in-hand. So, I am happy to see that when I am running around on main street- Greens Up is there to refuel me, when I'm burnt out. Now- I can only wish & hope that someday Greens Up will be @ LAX. My clients would line up to take that even in the 1st class cabin- it's THAT good!

  • Jeanie C.

I always feel so healthy when I pick up a salad from Greens Up. Ive been here quite a few times since it's close by my house, and this is a great place to get a super healthy (and large) salad. My favorite has to be the American Bounty - I've always stuck to their salad mix suggestions because when I try to branch out on my own it doesn't always end well. I also thought the lemonade with berries and mint in it was great. Service is always very friendly, too, which is nice. The main thing I don't like about this place is that you'll be spending a minimum of $10 on a salad, which is way over what I would usually spend - but it *is* really delicious and huge, so I just deal with the price and keep coming back.

Loved this place when I went in in person. But after ordering online a few times and asking for the dressing to me mixed in explicitly, I called to find out why they weren't mixing in the dressing. I spoke with a very angry and rude manager, who said they wouldn't mix in the dressing for pick up orders even if I asked for it. Seem ridiculous. Anyhow, I'm never going back.

I've lived in Venice for almost two months now, and after eating here last night I feel like I wasted meals everywhere and anywhere else!! If you love veggies/salads this is the spot. Pick your greens, your toppings and your dressing (even on the side) and you get this massive mixing bowl to enjoy it all in. Simply Divine!

  • Kate B.

This restaurant was OK. I had the Sonoma Salad, and it was a little bland. It was a very light, refreshing meal in a HUGE silver bowl (which is super fun to eat out of). I've had much better salads. The ingredients were fresh, but the combination was a bit odd and left the palate craving more. There was no bathroom, which was a downer. It was nice to have a small patio area outside to sit. BUT, being on Main Street, the bus came every few minutes, and it was so noisy and not peaceful at all. It was quite expensive for what it was as well. I paid $15 for a salad and an iced tea. It wasn't worth it.

Mmmmm. VERY fresh greens that taste like they were just picked off the farm. I always get a mix of the organic ones they have... The salads are big, and I often add egg and organic veggies. Nice choice of dressings too, and the price isn't too bad ---if you don't get any extras they run under 8.50 each including tax, which is cheaper than Whole Foods and a lot fresher too! I recommend Greens Up when you want a healthy, easy and quick meal...

I love this place! Huge, fresh, delicious salads. I've had the thai salad and the sonoma and love both. The Sanoma is especially delcious and amazing. The employees are awesome and the owner is legit. He's given me free goodies (lemonades, breads) every time I've been! Thanks owner! Perfect place for a fresh & healthy lunch on Main St.

I'm updating my review because I definitely feel the quality of the ingredients has gone down somewhat. Too often lately when eating here I get a bite of brown, rotten greens in my salad or an overripe/brown/rotten vegetable. Yuck. Guys - you have a good thing going here - please keep an eye on the quality of your salad ingredients!

This past Sunday (10/24/11) I was at the Santa Monica Farmers Market cruising with some friends visiting from out of town. A Greens Up employee was handing out free salad coupon to build awareness of ther new location in Santa Monica. We skateboarded all day and ended up there around 5pm, starving and cold. When we showed up, the people behind the counter were super nice, and let us taste many of the ingredients, and more importantly...the great choice of dressings. I made a custom salad, even though the chef selections look just as amazing. The salad was SUPER good and I love how they serve it in a giant bowl. My girlfriend loved hers, and my visiting friend was equally impressed. The guy who helped us was really cool, and even threw some organic green teas and soup samples in on the free salad. They were both delicious as well. I will definitely come back here, and can vouch for their fresh ingredients and friendly staff. I try to eat healthy, and having an organic salad spot in my neighborhood is a great thing. I will definitely be back! Oh, and my girl also had a cookie. She said it was beyond delicious.

This might sound bizarre but I had no idea what this place was by the name of it...my husband explained that it was a terrific little salad joint and I am endlessly thankful because I'M OBSESSED. I LOVE THIS PLACE. The salads are so healthy and clean, well priced for the amount of food, plenty of options to create whatever you want, friendly staff, happy manager, quick service. Just the best.

Best. Salads. Ever. I'm not a "salad guy," or at least I wasn't until I stepped into this place. Simply amazing. The greens are fresh and crisp, and the dressing are incredibly tasty. Friendly staff, and quick service. Zero complaints. Tons of praise.

I've eaten there several times now and love this place. Food is fresh and ingredients are very high quality. My only complaint, if you call it that is that the store gets a lot of natural sunlight and there are no shades making the seating uncomfortable. You either have direct sunlight in your eyes or its too hot. Aside from that, Amazing fresh healthy food! Try a blender too!

I love this place! We sometimes eat-in, but usually order out and have fun coming up with different combinations of toppings. I highly recommend eating here and telling all your friends. It is great food and very reasonably priced (Mark & I always share one salad). We look forward to having them as neighbors for a long time to come! They are part of our regular healthy diet!

WAY too expensive for what I received. I wanted specific things IN the salad and was happy to pay for them. HOWEVER, the TINY amount they placed in of each ingredient was a joke. (My husband jokingly told me I paid a dime for each crouton.) I am cool about paying for good food, it's just when I feel ripped off that it bothers me. We spent 40 dollars for two salads, and they were not very chucked full of much of anything but the lettuce. Perhaps it is better if you JUST get what is on the menu, but my husband's salad was right off the menu and it was just as empty. If you are a real salad person who likes a lot of different yummy stuff in your salad, you might be slightly disappointed.

Awesome Food & Awesome People! If there were 10 Stars - I'd give it! I get the Sawtelle and it is the best salad I've ever had. I love the dressing and the dates added to it for a little sweetness makes it amazing. All the salads can be modified to your liking ... the crew there are always smiling and happy to make suggestions if you'd like. **Fresh, High Quality, Yummy ingredients **Generous portion size (biggest salad I've ever received.) **Lots of options - so if you go with friends there's something for everyone. **Great Soup & Chili Options **Super Clean **Just added fresh juices ... haven't tried them yet, but I'm sure they're top notch! I wish we had a Greens Up in the Southbay so that I could have it everyday!!! Love Love Love it!!!

there is a salad bar whole foods just a few blocks away with more options at a better price and not served in an obnoxious huge salad bowl. this place is an overpriced salad bar.

I came here on a Saturday around 12:30 and was surprised to find the restaurant empty! This made me a little nervous but my inclinations were soon changed. I decided to make my own salad. I had the spring mix with baked tofu, chickpeas, corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers with the apple dressing tossed in. The first thing I have to say is that the salads are huge! Everything was great although I would suggest getting the dressing on the side because they tend to toss in a lot. My mom got the American Bounty with chicken. This was great too. Overall the ingredients were really fresh but the salads weren't culinary inspirations, just good basic food.

The food from Green's Up is absolutely incredible. The Not So Caesar is my favorite with the chef's rec commended dressing. Never seen a line, and there is usually parking. Although, if you ask for just a little extra chicken they charge you 3 dollars. To me that seems a little much. Other than that it's a bit overpriced but worth it.

My husband and I both love their Thai Salad. My daughter loves this place because she can simply pick and choose what vegetables she wants to eat and they'll fill it up for her in a small bowl and charge us something like $4 for a bowl of vegetables custom made for my 4 year old. We are a family who loves eating salads as meals and this place is perfect because it's fresh, tasty, huge portions, filling, and the staff is super welcoming and friendly. They really remember you and welcome you back warmly. The only negative is that there is no restroom for customers. You will need to go to Dagwoods, which is next door. Nothing against Dagwoods, just, well, after eating a great big salad in a quiet environment, walking into Dagwoods is a bit of a culture shock. Greens Up, how about letting your customers use your restroom? I know you have one.

The key is to eat it there and have the salad served in the mixing bowl. Big tasty salads.

Truly outstanding salads and business in general. The owner, Robert, is the most welcoming and accommodating guy on the planet...the food and the service will leave you with a smile. I tried the Sawtelle Salad and was blown away...fresh, delicious ingredients. The mint-strawberry juice drink was also killer. Will be back, perhaps daily!

Great salads with big selection of veggies and other goodies (honeyed walnuts, artichoke hearts are great). Big portions.

Delicious build-your-own or choose-the-chef's-recommendation salad place. Really appreciate the focus on low-carbon-impact ingredients. Salads are great, very very fresh vegetables and not overdressed. Don't miss the lemonade!

So fresh! So green! Quality service and personable experience. They are extremely helpful and very friendly. I had their Sonoma Coast salad and it fills you up but it does not leave you feeling "heavy." You actually feel healthy!

I've eaten here many, many times. When the store first opened I was a bit shocked by the prices but the salad's were large and the toppings were added in plentiful amounts. The server would add a heaping scoop of each ingredient and then even throw some extras in for good measure. I remember the feeling of walking out of the store with a heavy bowl of salad and feeling full upon completion of the meal. Over time the extras have gone away and the scoops went from heaping to level. But today topped it all, the server reached into the cooler and pulled out a covered, small plastic cup with a pre-measured quantity of chicken and added it to my salad. $12 for essentially a bowl of lettuce is just not going to cut it for me. Sadly, I've eaten my last Greens Up salad.

I had the sawtell salad, which was delicious! It was huge and everything was so fresh. Perfect amount of each ingredient. The roll on the side was also fresh and soft. Would def come back.

What a rip off. I paid for a $12 salad half because it included dates and they didn't even put dates on it. Aside from the missing star ingredient, the salad was mediocre at best. I just moved to Venice and do not plan to go back to this overly priced sad excuse for a salad bar.
